SONGS OF LONDON(VIII)

Two songs I wrote in London....

13/05/11 I KNOW THAT PETER PAN LIVES IN KENSINGTON GARDENS A.BARO

I know that Peter Pan lives in Kensington Gardens
A robin whispered the other day in my ears
No, not the statue that is next to Long Water
It’s just that I’m sure it’s so, yes indeed.

A rabbit told a squirrel, which was passing by there
While nibbling dandelions, saw something very strange
A flying shadow was coming out from his lair.

The oak spread its branches trying to hide from the sight
The owl hooted while “that” crossed the sky through the night
Jasmine brought forth its fragrance to complete the whole rite.

I know that Peter Pan lives in Kensington Gardens
I’ve seen tiny footprints on the grass near the lake
There were not any sort of marks, they were like a warning
I know ‘cos I noticed fairy dust on the air.

If you look very attentively you could see in the Serpentine
The figure of a crocodile searching for another hand
And a couple of Indians watching over from their land

Some little mermaids singing and having fun near the bank
And several fierce pirates on a boat, not good guys
While Captain James Hook pulls his sword to attack.

Music

And elm has told the yew and this to the hedgehog
Wendy Darling returns to be the mother of the Lost Boys
Then it resumes the magic flute and its beautiful song.

He tells me if you can see with the eyes of the heart
It will be as if you come back to be a child
Then you will see at last Tinkerbell and Peter Pan.

I know that Peter Pan lives in Kensington Gardens
That spring beyond time, James Barrie told in my ears
George Frampton placed a dream on the grass and that morning
All the boys, who we are, we come back to believe.
I was in Kensington and I know that Peter Pan lives.

15/05/11 THE WALTZ OF THE DINOSAURS A.BARO

Sliding us the mechanic staircase
Through the ages of the Earth and around
Volcanic elements from the beginning to the end
Gods of the antiquity, they observe us to come.

Earthquake and destruction every where
We follow the natural way of life
It begins to sprout the primordial soup
The shaking comes from below and we are out of time.

With rhythmic movements, the dance begins
The big dinosaur gets off its pedestal
Old Man in the corner, he has seen everything
Look the Waltz of the Dinosaurs.

Tyrannosaurus tries to catch Gallimimus
Camarasaurus still doesn’t know where he is
Pachycephalosurus wants to continue being a dreamer
Hypsilophodon smiles with its protruding teeth.

Music

With rhythmic movements, the dance begins
The big dinosaur gets off its pedestal
Old Man in the corner, he has seen everything
Look the Waltz of the Dinosaurs.

The ancient sequoia still wonders why
As the timeline gets fuzzy as fog
Archaeopterix seduces with its flight
And Charles Darwin knows that will not be anymore.

Baryonyx doesn’t find its fishes, no one
Iguanodon takes a few steps arching its claw
Triceratops kicks the ground as if were a bison
And Diplodocus takes over the Central Hall.

With rhythmic movements, the dance begins
The big dinosaur gets off its pedestal
Old Man in the corner, he has seen everything
Look the Waltz of the Dinosaurs.
