A day in the city (Un dia en la ciudad) y London Dungeons (Mazmorras de Londres)

04/05/11 A DAY IN THE CITY A.BARO

The lights of the City tell me I'm here
Isn't it a pity that I haven't got a beer?
People walk around me but they doesn’t see
That a day in the City it's enough for me.

I am walking slowly from dear Fleet Street
I read the old "News", what a symphony!
I hear the bells' ringing, my old church, St Paul
A day in the City for me it’s enough

A day in the City from St Paul to Townhill
A day in the City, It’s enough for me.

I like this "Square Mile", the templars left their imprint
Bank of England, thick walls, where the penny is the King
Stop in Leadenhall Market, Londinium's real heart
Or in Williamson's Tavern, best beer you'll have
There, William the Third eating on demand
It's forging another legend great Christopher Wren

Music

A day in the City from St Paul to Townhill
A day in the City, It’s enough for me.

The lights of the City tell me I'm here
Isn't it a pity that I haven't got a beer?

A day in the City for me it’s enough

Allí, William III comiendo a demanda

06/05/11 LONDON DUNGEONS A.BARO

From the dungeons of old London
A dark laughter, cruel and deep
You feel like your back goes cold
And start shaking your knees
(London Dungeons…yeah)

You’re lost in the gloomy labyrinth
Where the skeletons are laughing at you
Looking for a way out with fear
Before they threw their hands on you.
(London Dungeons…yeah)

The ground you walk is a continuous trap
It wants you to catch and wrap
The walls invite you to run away
Don’t stop, don’t look back.

The rats come from all over
And threatening to the bubonic plague
Soon will burn all of London
And you can’t hide in any place
(London Dungeons…yeah)

The ground you walk is a continuous trap
It wants you to catch and wrap
The walls invite you to run away
Don’t stop, don’t look back.

The Traitor’s gate will open for you
And will be the guilty verdict
The Killer Queen ordered to fire you
To clean your unforgivable sins

Perhaps, the Mad Barber shows you his sharp steel
You should be careful with your throat
But worst will be in Whitechapel High Street
When Jack the Ripper jump at you.
(London Dungeons…yeah)

MAZMORRAS DE LONDRES

Desde las mazmorras del viejo Londres
una risa oscura, cruel y profunda
sientes el frío en tu espalda
y comienzan a chocar tus rodillas.

quiere atraparte y envolverte
los muros te invitan a huir
no te detengas, no mires atrás.

Las ratas llegan desde todas partes
amenazando con la plaga bubónica
pronto arderá Londres
y no puedes huir a ningún lugar

quiere atraparte y envolverte
los muros te invitan a huir
no te detengas, no mires atrás.

01/05/11 THE CROWS OF THE TOWER A.BARO

On the flight of the crows
History recalls, the men and the spirit of the Tower
It’s the right of the Crown
Survival is on the wings and the heart of the crows of the Tower

There was a time when blood dyed the grass on the ground
When the Queen left her dreams, then, she flew
On the green and embraced to the time and the space
All the kings, now, they’re seeing our wings cover them

On the flight of the crows
History recalls, the men and the spirit of the Tower
It’s the right of the Crown
Survival is on the wings and the heart of the crows of the Tower

From Roman Times on that land where the shadows advanced
A Norman King built it to submit their inhabitants
From Byward to Beauchamp, all the towers began
To be guard of the kingdom of man on this land.

On the flight of the crows
History recalls, the men and the spirit of the Tower
It’s the right of the Crown
Survival is on the wings and the heart of the crows of the Tower

Music

I will lift my black wings and I’ll fly close to mine
If we fall, the Tower and the Crown will fall at a time
History says so and It may be so, but we know it won't
We believe that the spirit is who keeps the memory of all.

On the flight of the crows
History recalls, the men and the spirit of the Tower
It’s the right of the Crown
Survival is on the wings and the heart of the crows of the Tower

On the flight of the crows
History recalls, the men and the spirit of the Tower
It’s the right of the Crown
Survival is on the wings and the heart of the crows of the Tower

3/04/11 BEDLAM IN CHINATOWN A.BARO

If you want to believe it or not
we come running to Chinatown
we're searching for some questions
we've arrived between smells and suggestion

Red is the colour of Chinatown
voices and bedlam in Chinatown
we want to eat , we smell all around
running and bedlam in Chinatown

Slanted eyes and smiling faces
everybody's taking photos any places
lazy afternoon , if this is your wish
I prefer running for Gerrard Street

Red is the colour of Chinatown
voice and bedlam in Chinatown
we want to eat , we smell all around
running and bedlam in Chinatown

I like dragons like those are behind me
Magical Door is opened for free
chinese lions look at me fiercely
but I know they're winking at me

Red is the colour of Chinatown
voice and bedlam in Chinatown
we want to eat , we smell all around
running and bedlam in Chinatown

CAOS EN CHINATOWN

Si quieres creerlo o no
vamos corriendo a Chinatown
buscamos algunas cuestiones
llegamos entre olores y sugestiones

Rojo es el color de Chinatown
voces y caos en Chinatown
queremos comer, olemos todo alrededor
carreras y caos en Chinatown

Ojos rasgados y rostros sonrisas

leones chinos me miran fieramente
pero sé que me están guiñando

Rojo es el color de Chinatown
voces y caos en Chinatown
queremos comer, olemos todo alrededor
carreras y caos en Chinatown

26/04/11 I SAW THEM THROUGH A TAXI CAB WINDOW A.BARO

I saw them through a taxi cab window
One looks at the cigarette burning between her fingers
The other tries to get her out of her mistake, perhaps

I saw them through a taxi cab window
Maybe a tear rolls down her white face
Maybe the silence is better cure than words
And I am a strange witness
Saw them through the glass of the taxi cab.

It has been a hard work’s day
But we have time to take a breath
You wish the time stops and then
You can smile for the rest.

I saw them through a taxi cab window
And in a minute, time’s moving us
Different directions, opposite stations
I hope they will win the game
And we can smile each other through a taxi cab window

Music

direcciones diferentes, estaciones opuestas

16/04/11 ARRIVING TO LONDON TOWN A.BARO

I don't believe it, I can't believe it
now I'm landing to U.K.
So people can think...and what's my friend?
Thirty three years are looking for me, babe

I can't explain it, I don't know to express it
thousand thinkings and ideas are
running through my poor head
Thirty three years are looking at me, man

I'm smiling, no, I'm laughing
and I can't stop to dance
I'm arriving to the Roman and
the middle of Saxon Heart
Now I'm arriving to London Town.

I can see it but I can't believe it
my eyes are opened , my mind is closed
it's finishing a part of my life
thirty three years are looking at me, oh my

Music

I'm smiling, no, I'm laughing
and I can't stop to dance
I'm arriving to the Roman and

LLEGANDO A LA CIUDAD DE LONDRES

No me lo creo, no puedo creerlo
Estoy aterrizando en el Reino Unido
La gente puede pensar...¿Y qué?
33 años me observan, nena

No puedo explicarlo, no sé como expresarlo
Mil pensamientos e ideas
atraviesan corriendo mi pobre cabeza
33 años me observan,hombre.

Estoy sonriendo, no...estoy riendo

Dios mio, 33 años me observan

Música

Estoy sonriendo, no...estoy riendo

6/04/11 (Fasten Seat Belt) MY LIFE VEST IS YOU A.BARO

Fasten seat belt, under your seat, it's your life vest
I hope you're happy, welcome aboard
there are four exit A-doors
and in the middle the exit B – Overwings
emergency landing's painted in front of me.

But I'm not afraid, I'm not scared
and two seats on the right
she's talking about “Time's Out”
he tries to speak and understand
and in first place a babe doesn't stop to cry

I look from the windows
and I can see “English Prairies and Forest”
seat belt stops me, my life vest is you
we together in the same way

And in the cloudy sky opened seat belt
I look at you, you're my sweet parachute
my heart is glad
there's no way out and I don't want it
I want to jump and I know I'll get it

Music

I look from the windows
and I can see “English Prairies and Forest”
seat belt stops me, my life vest is you
we together in the same way

Espero sean felices, bienvenidos a bordo

ella habla de “Time's Out”(Revista de Turismo)

SONGS OF LONDON XI

08/05/11 TOWER BRIDGE A.BARO

There’s a bridge that joins your heart to mine
And it’s so since I was a child
It’s more than a bridge; it’s like a magical line
It’s a symbol that never gets out of my eyes.

There was a dream painted in the sky of my soul
And the spirit that pushes it always had its form
Those twin towers over Thames are the “luck”
Like Paul said in his song.

Tower Bridge, you’re my love song
You’ve been awaited for long, you are my fresh breeze
Tower Bridge, you took my heart to the top
In a continuous musical float,
You are my Tower, you are my bridge.

On the cover of a disc, with clear skies or gray
Your magic called me, like Merlin calls Stonehenge
The music is sounding like it was laid
And I climb up to my dreams till the end.

Music

Tower Bridge, you’re my love song
You’ve been awaited for long, you are my fresh breeze
Tower Bridge, you took my heart to the top
In a continuous musical float,
You are my Tower, you are my bridge.

SONGS OF LONDON (X)

28/05/11 I SUPPOSE I MUST BE A LONDONER A.BARO

Although I was not born on the banks of the Thames
Nor played in a suburb on the outskirts
But rather in the light coast of southern Spain
I can feel your soft wet mist in my mind and my head

Although I was not a child running through Hyde park
Neither grew up watching absorbed the walls of the Tower
I did rather whispering tunes next to pier between barks
I can feel the song of the clock between hours

I suppose I must be, it may be and so I feel
An archaic breath floating over the city
I suppose I should be and so may be I feel
A Londoner, because this is my spirit

Maybe someone does not believe in that mystical energy
That travels through the bodies and souls, time and space
But I know I am, I was, I will be
Among the lights and shadows of this wonderful place

Chorus

I suppose I must be a Londoner

28/05/11 I’LL GO BACK A.BARO

Sure I’ll go back, Sure I’ll go back, Sure I’ll go back
To step on your streets
To breathe your fresh breeze
To feel your sound and your music
To see all your beauty things
Sure I´ll go back

SONGS OF LONDON (IX)

16/05/11 ANCIENT LIFE IS RISING A.BARO

From Ancient Mesopotamia
Where the culture emerged between two rivers
To the modern world arrives neurasthenia
And about knowledge, there are only slivers.

From that land arising Babylonians and Sumerians
Assyrians of bravery recognized
From its fertile valleys, of the agrarians
The most marvellous paradise.

Sennacherib and his “Palace without rival”
Asurnasirpal of Assyria, king who built Nimrud
Ziggurats and astronomers of Babylon
And the Royal Tombs of Ur.

The ancient life is rising through the ages
The ancient life is rising through the new age.

Empire of Egypt with all its dynasties
Ozymandias, also known as Ramses
Extracted from the sands, king of kings
The blood of gods running through your veins.

Your footprint, from the Old Kingdom
Until the Ptolemaic opens the earth in two
By the Nile, generous with his children
Remains of the pyramids of Giza and breakthrough.

The Rosetta Stone teach us all your secrets
Granite sarcophagus and Egyptian mummies
Nebamon hunting in the marshes
Magic and rituals not for dummies

The ancient life is rising through the ages
The ancient life is rising through the new age

19/05/11 SOUVENIRS A.BARO

What would you take a souvenir of the city
If you can’t the air from the Thames?
Would you take the sunset, so pretty
Or the blades of grass in parks, then?
What would you take if you have no money
To buy all the wonderful feelings you get?
What would you take a souvenir of the city?
I’ll take everything that I felt.

Souvenirs, souvenirs, a piece of paper
That flew in the old station of my memories
Souvenirs, oh, souvenirs, a slice of an ancient
Figure of a worn ivory bridge.

Any object will awaken your longing season
It can be an old train ticket or a postcard
Those little things that get caught in treason
That arise in your mind from the backyard
Sweet or melancholic songs in you head
What will you feel if you are out of guard?
Any object will awaken your longing season
And you’ll come back in the time.

Souvenirs, souvenirs, a piece of paper
That flew in the old station of my memories
Souvenirs, oh, souvenirs, a slice of an ancient
Figure of a worn ivory bridge.

Music
